Work and resources

MUP requires remote activity for a foreign company or your own company outside Croatia. It publishes €3,622.50 monthly or funds for the stay. Each family member adds 10% of average net salary, not the nomad threshold. Prepare contract, funds, passport, health cover, criminal records and address.

Duration and a new application

The 2025 amendment allows up to 18 months. MUP distinguishes extending an initially shorter stay from applying for a new stay later, which has a six-month wait after expiry. Check the limit and submission timing before planning continuity.

Entry, application and arrival

Nationality determines whether you need an entry visa and where to apply. Stay approval can require a second entry and biometric-permit stage. Check address registration, translations and channel-specific fees before booking travel.

Taxes and tax residence

Tax amendment NN 138/2020 introduced an exemption for work or activity income for employers outside Croatia earned under digital-nomad status. This does not exempt every income type or obligations elsewhere. The current consolidation and specific application require tax review.
